New Customs Regulation in Brazil

Recent news from Avianca Cargo regarding import shipments into Brazil.

Due to the new regulation RFB 1759/2017 posted on November 13, 2017 by the Customs Office in Brazil, the process of handing over import cargo to the consignee has changed.

Going forward, all cargo cleared by Customs will be given to the consignee only through formal clearance documents.  This includes the submission of Original 2 of the document of transportation and photocopy of that same document which shall be retained by the warehouse administrator.

For Consolidated Freight, both cargo agencies and customs agents will be required to present a copy of the Original 2 of the House Airway Bill (HAWB).

It is essential to comply with these mandatory requirements since they have been implemented in every airport in Brazil.
