AfA Canine Coalition

The most efficient shipment evaluation machines are not actually machines, they are canines. In some cases, such as perishable products, canines are the only effective method available. At this time in the United States, only teams that are conducted by Transportation Security Administration (TSA) inspectors are allowed to use canines for the screening of air cargo shipments. Very few of these teams operate beyond the airport/airline setting. 

The Airforwarders Association (AfA), in coordination with interested industry stakeholders comprising airports, passenger and all-cargo air carriers, freight forwarder/Indirect Air Carriers, CCSFs, ground handling agents and Third Party Canine Vendors/Suppliers (3PK9), desires to help develop a coalition with a common approach toward the establishment of a 3PK9 pilot and ultimately and ongoing program.
